WATCH: Rep. Levin Presses Pompeo Amid Mounting Coronavirus Concerns
In a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing today, Congressman Andy Levin (MI-09) questioned Secretary of State Mike Pompeo about the administration’s inconsistencies in its justification for the strike that killed Iranian General Qasem Soleimani and dramatically escalated tensions with Iran. Congressman Levin also called out Secretary Pompeo for damaging public trust amid growing concerns of a possible coronavirus pandemic.
Congressman Levin opened his questioning by providing a map of the world and asking Secretary Pompeo to locate the four embassies that, President Trump claimed, faced an imminent threat of attack, thereby justifying the strike and the fallout that followed it. Secretary Pompeo refused to answer Rep. Levin’s question.
