Levin Announces $139 Million in COVID-19 Relief for 9th District Health Providers
Congressman Andy Levin, vice chair of the House Education and Labor Committee, today announced that health providers in Michigan’s 9th Congressional District, which includes Macomb and Oakland Counties, will receive $138,670,003.92 in COVID-19 relief funding. The money comes from the Health Provider Relief Fund, which was established by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), that Congressman Levin voted to pass last month.
“Health providers in Macomb and Oakland Counties have shown exceptional commitment to the COVID-19 response, and they’ve done so despite an immense financial toll,” Rep. Levin said. “My vote for the CARES Act was a vote to bring urgent assistance to Macomb and Oakland Counties, and it is my hope that these substantial funds will bolster the COVID-19 response in Metro Detroit and bring us closer to the end of this crisis.”
