Congressman Andy Levin Statement on Passage of the Climate Action Now Act

Press Release

Congressman Andy Levin (MI-09) released the following statement on the passage of H.R. 9, the Climate Action Now Act, or which he is an original cosponsor:

“Climate change is an existential threat to our planet. That’s why it is the responsibility of every nation to take concerted, sustained actions immediately and daily. The Paris Climate Agreement brought the world together to address the crisis in a meaningful way, and President Trump, in a colossal example of short-sightedness, withdrew the United States to blindly appease the destructive agenda of climate deniers. I’m very proud that the House passed the Climate Action Now Act to send a message to the world that the President’s folly does not represent the vast majority of Americans who understand the danger of the climate crisis, who believe we all must act urgently to avoid disaster, and who realize the tremendous economic opportunity if America leads the change we need, instead of lagging.”
