Press Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Andy Levin (MI-09), member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, released the following statement on the deportation of war criminal Toto Constant to Haiti:

“I am so upset by our government’s senseless decision to deport Toto Constant back to Haiti. Based on its history when it comes to accountability, I’m not at all confident that the Haitian government is prepared to hold him to justice. For the Trump Administration to ignore that history and continue deporting people to Haiti—including this war criminal—in the middle of a pandemic that’s ravaged even the world’s best health care systems is terrifying and demonstrates its utter disregard for the wellbeing of the Haitian people.”
