Congressman Andy Levin Statement on Closure of U.S. Capitol Complex

March 12, 2020
Press Release

Congressman Andy Levin today released the following statement:

“The U.S. House of Representatives Sergeant at Arms today ordered limited access to the U.S. Capitol Complex, which includes my Washington office, starting this evening to prevent community spread of the coronavirus. I support this decision and appropriate social distancing to slow the spread as much as possible.

“As such, my D.C. office will be closed and I have encouraged my staff to telework at least until next Friday, March 20th. Staff in my D.C. office will be available during regular office hours. If you wish to reach the office, you may leave a voicemail at my D.C. office phone number, submit an inquiry on my website or contact my office in Warren, MI. If my Warren office also begins operating remotely, I will notice the change as appropriate.

“However you reach out to my office, you can expect a prompt response. My staff will continue to work on legislation, casework, outreach and other issues whether they are working from their office desks or at home.”
